Frequently Asked Questions

Read through this page to find answers to our most frequently asked questions.

What is your refund policy regarding Covid 19 or refunds in general?

We understand that these are challenging and uncertain times for everyone, including small businesses! If you are registered for a class and there are stay at home guidelines, we would prefer that you use the credit towards a future class or camp. For private classes, Epic Cooking School would gladly reschedule the class on a mutually convenient time for everyone.

If your plans change due to circumstances other than mandated SIP orders, the classes or camps are transferable, meaning you are more than welcome to find someone else to fill your child’s spot. In addition, a credit can be issued if you are able to use it towards reserving a private event for 8 students on a mutually agreed upon time.

Epic Cooking School does not issue refunds.

Does my child need prior cooking experience to attend classes?

Absolutely not!  All skill levels are welcome. We serve both the novice chefs as well as the more experienced chef.

What if my child has allergies or restrictions?

We try our best to accommodate allergies, and we welcome all campers. If given advance knowledge, we will do our best to provide an alternative food choice.

There are times, however, that we may be unable to accommodate the specific allergy and in this case, it may be best to register for another class with a more accommodating menu.

What if someone in the family has food allergies or restrictions?

If the student is making a meal for his/her family, we may be able to accommodate particular food restrictions. In the interest of the group, however, the curriculum for each class is set ahead of time.

What forms do I need to fill out?

There are five forms and a photo release form that need to be filled out for classes and summer camps. These forms are required from the State of California & Social Services Department. Once you have filled them out, there is no need to fill them out again. You may write multiple siblings’ names on the forms. Each student will need this form prior to attending a camp or class.

What should my child bring?

Absolutely nothing!  We provide everything your child will need to cook, bake and create.

What should my child wear?

Students should wear comfortable clothing that they, or you, won’t mind getting dirty!  Aprons are provided to protect your clothing, but clothes can sometimes still get dirty or stained.  In addition, for safety, closed-toe-shoes should be worn and long hair tied up.

What are the details around drop off and pickup?

Students may arrive up to five minutes prior to class.  If you arrive earlier than this, please have students wait in the car with you until class begins.  Parents may park in the carpark or use the spots in the driveway or directly in front of the house or just past it in the cul-de-sac.  You may walk your child up the steps or if your child is comfortable, please feel free to send him/her up independently. Also keep in mind that this is a residential neighborhood so watch your speed and keep your voices down.

Are recipes for the food prepared included?

Yes, students receive recipes for everything they make.  All recipes are emailed to the parent, or students can request a hard copy after the class.  Birthday party recipes are handed out at the time of the event.

Do you give refunds?
